So I've decided to be like Pollyanna, I am going to find the happiness in having a fractured leg... Because I am going to be that PERFECT wife that you all think I am.
Top 10 Reasons to be happy about my Crappy Leg:
  1. I have been able to reinstate my membership to the "Laziness Club". This club of course was invented by me and a friend of mine when we were in High School. We both now have children so you are automatically kicked out of the laziness club once you reproduce, because as hard as I try, you can't be trully lazy with children. HOWEVER, now that I can't walk... I am lazy again.
  2. I got to eat Chinese for lunch. You might ask how that is something positive or has anything to do with my leg, but I don't have the answers for you. All I know is that on Thursday I wanted Chinese for lunch, but nobody else did, so I didn't get it. BUT today I got it. I think it's because people think I'm pathetic right now. (I'd have to agree with them too.)
  3. My mother is with me. You see she was supposed to go home yesterday night, but obviously you can't leave the cripple.
  4. A Vacation from the kids. I thought that my surgery was going to be some sort of quick out patient procedure, but it seems that I will most likely be there for 2 or 3 days. Last time I checked they don't let kids sleep with you at the hospital, so that means 2 nights without my cute little monsters.
  5. I will get a nice long scheduled nap, known as surgery. I am almost 100% guaranteed to sleep through the whole procedure.
  6. Kelly has not left my side. Whenever she is home she sits by me and waits for me to need something. She gets me water, snacks, breakfast, and lots of hugs and kisses.
  7. I automatically win ANY argument by default. Who is going to yell at little old me??
  8. I get a constant supply of happy pills... which I apparently need. Yesterday, I had some sort of nervous breakdown which included me yelling things like "Just take the whole leg" and "I don't think I will ever be happy again". Once the doctor uped my dosage, I haven't had any more of those erratic outbursts.
  9. I have always wanted my leg to look like a giant Banana... well that is just totally made up and untrue, but I was running out of positive things and I really wanted to make it to ten. Oh well! Maybe next time.

It's a bird, it's a plane... No It's just Tommy and a Giant Banana. Poor Poor Foot.

This is NOT what I expected to see on your blog... I am not sure what I expected but it was for sure NOT THIS! What can I do for my dear friend? I can mess with your head while you are on the drugs! Oh what fun I could have! I love you!

So Miss Jen, you really must take care of yourself. Let me know if I can do anything.

Love you, love you, love you.

Did you know that Pollyanna was on today?

I must not know the story of how this happened.... Can I assume this was due to some kind of Jen-stunt... something gymnasticly related or something?

Am glad your mom is there and that Kelly is taking such good care of you. She's such a sweetie. Good luck in surgery - you'll love the rest! I'm with Meg - keep blogging when you're drugging! You're the best!

Poor poor Polly Anna. Well if you need brighter things to think of...keep looking at that bright cast...maybe that cheery yellow can keep you going! Ah...I really do feel bad for you. I still don't know what on earth you did to yourself. I hope your surgery goes well and that you heal fast!

I saw your kids at church today! Hey they match your cast! Now that is something to be happy about right? Let us all know when you will be going to your "Happy Place" for surgery! I would love to help you out with whatever I can!

Hey, I watched Pollyanna yesterday, too! I made Josh record it and we watched it together. So, you must be living in Harrington, the Glad Town, right?
I was pleasantly surprised to see you posted again, I hope your surgery went well today! We are all rooting for you!

You are so cute Jen. I can't believe you can be so upbeat while you are in pain. Good Luck with the surgery and heal fast so we can have 'nonnie' back :)

You know, there are other ways to get out of coming to St. Louis to visit me.... Guess we'll have to trek out there instead. :)

Jen...I cannot believe that you totally fractured your foot. I got the details from Lindsay and Nikki. You really should not be so gruesome around the children...they will have nightmares! (Can I be in the lazy club because I do not have children??) If you need anything, please let me know! Enjoy the happy pills! Love ya!

I must be the most out of the loop person EVER because I just found out about you, and it was from my four year old. Capri told me on sunday that, "Paige's mommy couldn't come to church today because she broke her leg." To which Jeff and I said, "WHAT??". And then we looked at each other like, could this be true? Can we trust the four year old? Apparently we can. Good to know.
Anywho, we hope you're doing alright (yeah right, I mean you're in a cast for goodness sakes!!) and Capri would love to have Paige come over and play anytime.

That is an awesome list. I hope you are recovering well. It reminds me of when you twisted your ankle at girls camp. Are you accident prone? I hope you feel better. Let me know if I can help at all.

Jen, I'm really sorry for your freak accident. However, I'm sorry to tell you, but I still don't think you qualify for the lazy club. You still have been very helpful around the kids, even when confined to the couch.
